The poster was composed using Adobe Illustrator version 7.0. Text font is ITC Benguiat Gothic (book and medium oblique), heading font is "RepublikSanslCG". The patterned background was done by clipping a bitmap photo of burlap, tweaking the colors and turning up the brightness, then using a mosaic type filter to transform the image into a vector drawing for conversion to a fill pattern. The original mosaic had squares butted against each other, which made for bad tile edges, so they were roughened and then shrunk away from each other with the "transform each" command. (If you search closely, you will find the spot where I dropped a test tile on the artboard and left it there. Moral: spend the extra money on a color proof before you print the big one and laminate it.)
